In the end, I kind of figured out that books weren't the answer. The answer was that I just wasn't trying. I would complain and be unhappy, and but I would just sit at home, or go out with male friends and talk about guy stuff...
The whole change was that I started approaching girls, having casual conversation and showing genuine interest. With time, I got better and funnier, and now I can say that I'm living happily with my current girlfriend together.
In a way, I'm happy for what happened. Because if it didn't - I wouldn't be with her now. I would just stay the same old guy, and try to date as many girls as I can, without even noticing what is really happening...
I'm sure you can go the same route dude, just try.
